All the fun of the festivals

Hundreds of families turned out to Mansfield’s first Summer Festival at Titchfield Park.

Entertainment included Punch and Judy show, reptile handling, dog show, face painting, duck racing and pony rides.

The Summer Festival at Titchfield Park was the first of three. The next one takes place on Wednesday, 9 August at King George V Park, from 10am to 3pm.

The second event is also the local launch party for the OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2017 so expect to see professional cyclists, have a go on a static racing bike, see a comedy walkabout cycling act and take part in BMX cycling competitions.

People can take bikes for a free service, which will include safety checks, puncture and brake repairs and gear setting. Medals and rosettes are up for grabs too.

Owners can also take their dog along and pick up some tips from the council’s Dog Control team while watching a dog handler from Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and experienced guide dog tackle obstacles in the arena.

There will also be FREE goodie bags including skipping ropes, beach balls and sports bottles (while stocks last).

Representatives from various council departments including Environmental Health, Leisure and Community Safety will also be available to answer questions and give advice.

Most activities are free but some will require a small donation.

The next festivals are at King George V Park, Mansfield, on Wednesday 9 August and Carr Lane Park, Warsop on Tuesday 22 August. All the events are from 10am to 3pm.
