Ashfield Citizens Advice is visiting locations across the area, providing advice and information from its new mobile information unit (pictured).

Chief executive Kathryn Stacey said: “We know it can be difficult for some people to come and see us in Kirkby, but now thanks to the Big Lottery we can take our service out to the community.”

Information officer Linda Pattison said: “Some people just need information or pointing in the right direction and wouldn’t come to see us unless they happened to be in the area.

“Now they can just pop on to our bus and get the information they need there and then.

“We also have a confidential room where we can take people if they need more advice, or we can make them an appointment to see one of our debt or welfare benefit specialists in Kirkby.”

Kathryn said: “We are so pleased with the vehicle. We have internet access so people can complete their forms online with the support of an information officer should they need it.

“The unit has already been to places such as Hucknall and Selston and has been well received.”
