Acts wanted for Mansfield’s Got Talent 2019

Posted onPosted on 26th Feb

Entertainment acts are being urged to take part in auditions for Mansfield’s Got Talent 2019.

The charity event, held annually at Forest Town Arena, has previously helped many national, regional and local charities, including Help for Heroes, the Emily Harris Foundation and Portland College.

This year it will be supporting a campaign to provide a children’s play area at the Arena, for its members, visitors and the community.

The competition is also being in memory of Simon Crofts, who was site manager of the Arena until his death last year.

One of the organisers, Carol Newton, said: “Until recently, the spearhead of these events was Simon.

“This year we are doing the event in his memory and to help provide the much-needed play area at the Arena.

“Having previously helped dozens of local regional and national charities, we decided to put something into our own community this year.”

The competition, which is open only to amateurs of any age, is looking for musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, speciality acts, jugglers, bands and more for the auditions, which are being held every Friday at the Arena until 26th July.

Semi-finals will take place on 27th July, ahead of the final on 3rd August.

There is a total of £1,000 to be shared by the winners.

Acts wanting to take part in the auditions must pay a £5 registration fee, which will be donated to the charity appeal.

Anyone interested can contact the Arena on 01623 624678, pick up an entry form and/or turn up at the auditions.
