Fundraising to save lives

ST John Ambulance volunteers from Pinxton have raised £4,000 towards first aid equipment for their unit, including a defibrillator.

Money was raised with the support of the community and businesses, through sponsored walks, supermarket bag packs and coin collections in Kirkby and Sutton, as well as at the Pinxton Christmas fayre.

The defibrillator and other new equipment will be used to support sports events and festivals.
Denise and Garry Taylor co-ordinated the fundraising, helped by other adult volunteers, badgers and cadets from the charity’s Pinxton unit.

They are pictured receiving the new defibrillator from St John Ambulance district manager Joe Shaw

The volunteers will continue to fundraise for another defibrillator and other equipment.
