Mansfield Town’s chief executive, Carolyn Radford, is offering £6,000 to an individual sportsperson, sports team or sporting organisation to help them chase their sporting goals.
The money will be donated from The Radford Foundation, set up by Stags’ chairman John Radford and Carolyn in 2014 to create a safer and stronger community for the people of Mansfield and surrounding areas — and to improve the sporting facilities and programmes that support the area.
Applicants within Mansfield, Ashfield and Bolsover are invited to apply for the donation.
Carolyn said: “We want to help a local sportsperson, team or sporting organisation aspiring to achieve their personal targets in 2016.
“The money can be used towards improved coaching or advanced equipment, which should give them a better opportunity to achieve their sporting goals this year.
“There are fewer things better in life than seeing hard work pay off.
“We hope this donation will be highly beneficial for the recipient and help enhance their sporting abilities and achieve their goals.”
Sportspeople, teams or sporting organisations within Mansfield, Ashfield and Bolsover should apply for the donation directly to the foundation, e-mail info@therad fordfoundation.co.uk
Applicants should include their full name, team or organisation (if appropriate), address and date of birth, explaining why the money would be beneficial and their sporting targets for the year.
Applications are encouraged from all sportspeople, teams or sporting organisations within Mansfield, Ashfield and Bolsover, regardless of gender, race, national origin, religion, age or ability.
A year ago, the foundation donated £5,000 to help set up the Stags Boxing Academy – an amateur boxing club in Mansfield, which is open to the public at different levels, from the age of 10.
