Volunteers who help out at Mansfield Community Hospital have been rewarded for their efforts.
The sterling work completed by more than 50 people was recognised at Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust’s Chairman’s Awards ceremony at Refined Dining, West Notts College.
Volunteers were honoured across all areas of the hospital, with one Joan Birkin (pictured centre), celebrating 30 years of service.
Awards were presented by trust chairman Sean Lyons and Barbara Joule (pictured), chairman of the League of Hospitals Friends (Mansfield and Sutton) to:
Five-year awards — Sheila Egglestone, tea bar; Beverley Jackson, chaplaincy.
10-year awards — Patricia Allwood, Lindhurst Ward; Maggie Brett, tea bar; Ann Freeman, Charlesworth Ward.
20-year award — Mavis Crookes, tea bar.
30-year award — Joan Birkin, tea bar.
Mr Lyons said: “It is a privilege and honour to again present awards to our exceptional team of volunteers at Mansfield Community Hospital.
“The support they provide enables staff to deliver a high-quality patient service.”
Volunteers play an important role in the trust’s hospitals. Mansfield Community Hospital volunteers work in various sections, including outpatient clinics, wards, ward trolleys, chaplaincy, fundraising and the tea bar.
