Spear & Jackson has donated gardening equipment to The Beech Academy, Mansfield, which caters for children with a range of special needs.

As part of a life skills-focussed curriculum, the students do horticulture and grow produce to cook or sell as part of their enterprise initiative.

Alaina Shone, of Spear & Jackson, pictured with students, said: “It’s wonderful to see the results that are being achieved at the Beech Academy. Supporting good causes is important to us and we love to be able to give something back to our community to benefit the local area.”

Thanks to the donation from Spear and Jackson, the students can prepare their garden beds and maintain them to a higher standard, allowing all students to be involved due to the number of tools donated.”
