A local specialist kitchenware company has claimed that Black Friday 2015 was its biggest day on record with traffic, conversion and revenue up by over 50% on the prior year.
ProCook, with 22 stores nationwide, experienced strong sales in its store at the East Midlands Designer Outlet.
Black Friday, a recent import from the US, marks the day when retailers slash their prices and shoppers hunt for the biggest bargains in store and online.
Having anticipated a significant surge of traffic to its stores and website, ProCook significantly invested in systems development to cope with increased demand alongside improving the overall shopping experience.
ProCook managing director Daniel O’Neill said: “Black Friday 2015 was better than even we expected. We’ve had a strong year and Friday’s sales were indicative of that. We started preparing for Black Friday in the summer and I think these results highlight the excellent work which has been done across the company.
“Last year was our first real experience of Black Friday and was a steep learning curve in terms of preparing our couriers to deal with the extra demand. This year, we’ve offered our customers a range of delivery options and it’s been an extremely popular move.”
ProCook’s strong Black Friday sales figures have capped an incredible year for the retailer which has posted record sales growth across all platforms, won two awards at the 2015 eCommerce Awards and recently opened its 22nd store in the Resorts World Centre in Birmingham.
