Mansfield radio station 103.2 is hosting a 12-hour live auction for the John Eastwood Hospice Trust on Thursday, 12th November.
It will be split into 12 hour-long sections for mini prizes, while star lots can be bid for throughout the day.
They including an overnight champagne spa stay at Clumber Park Hotel, the chance to play snooker against former world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, a hospitality package to an England football international against France, the chance for a child to help turn on Mansfield’s Christmas lights the following Sunday and a day at the races, including helicopter transfers, with local businessman John Fretwell.
As well as the donated lots, money will be raised at a fundraising car wash and penalty shoot-out competition in the station’s car park, organised by ETS Tyre and Autocentre, Sutton.
Previous auctions at the radio station, whose staff are pictured with some of the lots sold, have raised money for the Rainbows Children’s Hospice and the Mansfield Christmas lights appeal.
The station was inspired to choose the hospice to benefit from this year’s event by the fundraising of Edwinstowe’s Brian Hawkins, who has raised thousands of pounds since his wife died at the hospice.
Brian and his friend, Michael Dickinson, will do a charity walk on the day of the auction to visit some of the businesses that donated items to be sold-off.
The new Miss Mansfield and Sherwood Forest, Amy Beilby, Funky Studios drama school and the Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Mansfield, will also help out at the auction.
The auction starts at 7am. Go to www.mansfield103.co.uk for a list of the lots and further details.
