The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme has awarded Nottinghamshire Hospice £500 towards the purchase of a petrol lawnmower and petrol strimmer. The hospice garden is maintained by volunteers and is accessible to both patients and visitors.
Sam Billington, from Nottinghamshire Hospice, Nottingham, said: “We would like to thank The Mansfield for their generous donation. The hospice has substantial gardens that have recently been tailored for patient access. We also use the gardens for charity events and the local community and host over 2,000 visitors per year”
The Mansfield’s Business Development Manager, Stuart Bryce said: “We are very pleased to be able to help. The garden is designed to help relieve stress enabling patients under palliative care to enjoy an improved quality of life.
“It also provides the patients and carers with access to more private areas conducive to relaxation. ”
