The trust that runs King’s Mill and Mansfield Community hospitals has been praised by patients

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was rated for the quality of its patient environments.

Results from the Patient-led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) published by the Health and Social Care Information Centre showed the trust scored 99.87% for cleanliness; 94.47% for nutrition and hydration; 89.36% for privacy, dignity and wellbeing; and 94.36% for condition, appearance and maintenance,

In the new dementia-friendly assessment the trust scored 71.77%.

These results, combined for King’s Mill, Mansfield Community and Newark hospitals, are above the national averages of 97.57% for cleanliness; 88.49% for nutrition and hydration; 86.03% for privacy, dignity and wellbeing; and 90.11% for condition, appearance and maintenance. The national average for dementia assessment was 74.51%.

Karen Fisher, acting chief executive of the trust, said receiving recognition from patients was a great accomplishment.

“These results are testament to the hard work and dedication of staff. From doctors, nurses, midwives and support staff, everyone works with one goal in mind – the delivery of exceptional care,” she said.

“Finding out what patients have experienced in our hospitals, and if they are satisfied with the care provided, helps us learn and grow to ensure we continue to provide the highest level of care and service.”
