Vision Express in the Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Mansfield, raised funds for The Macular Society — an organisation supporting central vision loss — during the society’s first awareness week.

Staff at the store held a bake sale to highlight the importance of funding research that could eventually help to find a cure for macular conditions.

Assistant manager at the branch Sheri Satchell said: “We had a fun day in store with staff baking for the charity. We sold cakes at 50p each and in total raised £40.33 for The Macular Society, beating our £30 target.

“We would like to thank the community for their generosity.”
