Youngsters at The Flying High Academy in Mansfield made their own TV weather reports with the help of BBC East Midlands presenter Mel Coles.
A studio and green screen were set up in the school to give pupils the own chance to create a weather report with some surprising forecasts, including a torrential downpour of chocolate.
Caleb Hall (7) said: “I have performed before in a show and this has brought my confidence up. I asked Mel if she thinks she is performing in front of people or just a camera when she’s on TV.”
Molly Cajkler (8) said: “It was brilliant because not many schools in England get the opportunity to have BBC people in school.”
Mel said the children performed well in what is sometimes a nerve-racking task. “Their confidence was incredible and they were so creative with the bulletin,” she said. “Every child in the group had a go, it was so impressive.”
