Mansfield’s Four Seasons Shopping Centre has adopted the John Eastwood Hospice as its charity for 2014/2015.

The hospice, next to King’s Mill Hospital on Mansfield Road, helps people suffering with a terminal illness through its 12-bed on-care unit and day hospice.

As well as medical and nursing care, a range of therapies are available, including complementary therapies and diversional therapies, such as social activities, arts and crafts.

Rebekah O’Neill, Four Seasons’ manager, said: “We’re delighted to support the hospice.

“It’s a popular charity because it has touched the lives of so many people from Mansfield and Ashfield.

“We’re hoping to help raise money and awareness of the fantastic services they offer, the need for constant fundraising and the ongoing volunteering opportunities for anyone who can spare a little time to help.”

The John Eastwood Hospice Trust relies entirely on fundraising, donations and the voluntary services of more than 300 people from all different walks of life.

Its running costs amount to around £450,000 per year – meaning the team is always on the lookout for new fundraising opportunities and outlets.

Four Seasons has committed to providing space in its busy mall for fundraising stalls throughout the year and has placed a huge collection bin by its customer services desk for the next 12 months.

Rebekah said: “We’ve always found the people of Mansfield to be generous and supportive of all charitable activity – and hope that they continue to be so for the hospice.”

Diane Humphreys, hospice trust manager, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the Four Season’s adopted charity for 2014/2015.

“It will not only give us a fantastic opportunity to raise vital funds, but also to raise our profile in the community and reach out to more people who may benefit from our services.”
