Mansfield Museum was highly commended at the East Midlands Heritage Awards for its Made in Mansfield Flash Mob in the innovation section.
The flash mob formed part of the launch of the Heritage Lottery-funded (HLF) gallery Made in Mansfield in October.
It featured volunteers, singers, Mansfield Primary Academy and Funky Studios.
Judges said it was a unique approach to a museum opening/setting and created a great sense of local place, history and spirit.
The awards were organised by East Midlands Museums Service, Museum Development East Midlands and Nottingham Trent University, and the event was hosted by BBC Radio Nottingham’s John Holmes.
