Caring pupils think of African students

Students from the Beech Academy, Mansfield, part of The Evolve Trust, have collected pencil cases and stationery to send to needy students in Africa.

They gave the donations to Edward Mawson, from Teachers UK, who will be visiting Africa. Edward with Derby County FC.
The students will be presented with photographs of their gifts being distributed.

Pictured is school ambassador Lewis, right, presenting the pencil cases to Mr Mawson. The school, which has around 50 students, collected 70 pencil cases.

Mr Rob Butler, deputy head, said: “I am proud of the response from students and parents at the academy. While we are only a small school, we believe that every individual can make a difference.”
