Help boxing club support member rocked by death of father

Posted onPosted on 18th Mar
Hucknall Boys Boxing Club, which monthly helps a cause in its local community, is appealing for help.
Previously it helped raise money for a young boy, Marley, who was sadly diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, and recently collected a huge donation for Hucknall Foodbank.
Now it is fundraising to help pay for the funeral of the father of one of its members, Thomas Dodds, who tragically lost his father to suicide.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Thomas has been a great asset to us over the last three years and we want to support him in anyway possible.
“The club is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Philip Dodd, also known as ‘Dodsy’, who tragically took his own life just two months before his 47th birthday.
“Thomas has become a great addition to the club. Since training at Hucknall Boys he has gained confidence and the boxing training has helped him combat bullying he was facing at school.
“In an effort to support Thomas and his family during such an incredibly difficult time, the club is fundraising to help support the funeral costs.
“We are kindly asking for your support in this cause so we can ease some of the financial burden during this heartbreaking time. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated by the family and entire Hucknall Boys boxing community.”
