Donation means fun and games at nursery

Posted onPosted on 16th Jan

A £6,000 donation from Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity has helped a nursery to buy new equipment for its youngsters.

Little Millers Day Nursery, which is based at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton, recently improved its outdoor play area and has now added bikes, trikes, scooters, a mud kitchen, dolls, pushchairs, climbing crests, and gigantic tunnels for children to crawl through thanks to the donation.

Operated by Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust, which runs King’s Mill, Mansfield Community and Newark hospitals, the nursery provides care for up to 96 children, including children of the trust’s staff.

Deborah Hall, nursery manager, said: “The new play areas we have been able to create thanks to this donation have provided the children many more opportunities to be outside in all weathers.

“They have loved listening to the sound of the rain while standing underneath canopies and have been learning lots of new skills, such as climbing and bike riding.

“Thank you to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity for your kind donation.”

The charity said it was grateful for all donations received from individuals, community groups, and businesses, which enabled it to help the trust invest in innovative new equipment, development projects, and other initiatives towards patient care and medical treatment.
