Rotary demonstrates benefits of Aquabox

More than 100 pupils at Kingsway Primary School, Kirkby, were given a demonstration of Aquabox, the life-saving water filtration unit.

At the invitation of Kirkby Rotary Club, Rotarian Bob Jackson, a member of Ravenshead and Blidworth Rotary Club, showed how a tank of polluted water could be transformed into clean water from the Aquabox.

Aquabox was invented by Wirksworth Rotary Club, Derbyshire, and Rotary is still responsible for organising teams of volunteers to assemble the specially-developed Aquafilter and prepare the units for dispatch around the world.

A Kirkby Rotary spokesman said: “As part of our community programme, we have had a long relationship with Kingsway, and have co-operated in projects to support Aquabox and other good causes.

“The club has provided funding for many units over the years.”
