Edingley Lodge Care Home presented Reach Learning Disability, a charity with bases in Mansfield, Southwell, and Newark, with a cheque for £1,570 as part of its Christmas challenge.
The Edingley care home welcomed the charity’s funding director, Julia Sandhu, for the presentation and also gave her a tour of the home.
“I’d like to thank the staff and residents for their warm welcome and for supporting our Christmas Challenge,” she said.
“Although our two social care organisations support different parts of the community, we share a common goal of ensuring people have access to activities that help them stay as active and socially-connected as possible.
“The funds from this year’s Christmas Challenge are going towards our sports and fitness activities for adults with learning disabilities in Nottinghamshire, and we’re grateful to the residents for their support.”
The home’s general manager, Jilu Stephen, added: “We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities.
“It gives us great pleasure knowing this money we have donated will be used for a worthy cause.”
