Breathing new life into traditional tale The Nutcracker

Posted onPosted on 16th Oct

One of the most well-known and loved ballets, The Nutcracker, is coming to Mansfield Palace Theatre on Saturday, 2nd November with a matinee at 2.30pm and an evening performance at 7.30pm.

Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece will be brought to life with lavish costumes and glittering sets by Ballet Theatre UK.

Follow the story of Clara and her heroic Nutcracker Prince as they encounter wondrous snowflakes, delightful dancing dolls, waltzing flowers, a magnificent Christmas tree that seemingly touches the heavens and, of course, the magical Sugar Plum Fairy.

Tchaikovsky’s hauntingly beautiful musical score intertwines with stunning choreography, creating a spellbinding atmosphere of fantasy and illusion.

Ballet Theatre UK artistic director Christopher Moore said: “Every production features sets and costumes all designed and made in house by the company’s extensive creative artists including set and lighting designers, costume makers and more. This allows the company to create spectacular productions that are truly conceptualised from the initial idea through to opening night. This has allowed Ballet Theatre UK to develop its own style, distinct to the company, across all aspects of the production.

“Ballet Theatre UK’s opulent new production, The Nutcracker, aims to surpass your expectations and breathe new life into this traditional tale, it’s the perfect festive treat for all the family.”
