Thanking garden party fundraisers

Posted onPosted on 7th Oct

The latest and last evening party held by Sharon and John Cooper in their Skegby garden room raised a further £721 for the Amazons Breast Cancer Support Group, taking their total fundraising for the charity to £10,827.

The Amazons thanked the couple and all those who have supported them over the years to support the charity’s work, helping breast cancer patients at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton.

The charity said a huge thank you to Sharon and John who, at their own expense, have always provided all the food and refreshments at their parties, and have given all the monies raised to the Amazons.

Chairperson Beryl Perrin added: “They have given so many people so much fun and pleasure through their and their family’s selfless efforts, and should know they are valued as friends and deserving of great admiration.”

Sharon and John thanked their family members, Stacey, Lee Michele, Jacob and Joshua for their help before and on the night. They also thanked Kay, of Ocean Blue; Mandy, of Speed the Plough; Walt, Marilyn, Gail, Donna, Fred and family; Beryl, Angie, Deb and Geoff; and everyone else who helped to make the evening such a success.

For more information about the charity — which holds meetings open to all on the second Tuesday of the month, in the Amazon Lounge, King’s Mill, from 5pm to 6.30pm — go to www.amazonsgroup.org.uk
