Mansfield Town’s head groundsman/kit man, Michael Merriman, has received a club hero award from the Football League for his long-standing service to the Stags.

Michael, pictured, left, receiving the award from club secretary Keith Burnand, has worked at the club for 14 years.

He started in the Football In The Community section before moving to a new role as kit man and then succeeding Robbie Sprigg as head groundsman.
