Is nature beautiful? That was the question posed to reception children at Forest Glade Primary School, Sutton, for their enquiry learning.
They looked at the beauty of seasons, plants, and animals — using artwork by David Hockney, going on walks and minibeast hunts, and welcoming an owl into school.
Pupils also considered the impact litter can have on the environment with members of the school’s eco club explaining its possible effects.
Early Years lead Nicola Jackson said: “From all this learning, the children became passionate about making a difference to nature. They made and put up posters telling people the effects litter can have on plants, animals, and the environment. They also completed a litter pick in the school grounds, and organised their own community litter pick at Sutton Lawn (pictured).”
