A new swimming pool is to open in Warsop on 1st June.
The 15x8m pool is part of Warsop Health Hub, which will also include a splash play area, gym, multi-purpose hall, changing village, café, and community space. Outside there will be a multi-use games area.
The hub was made possible thanks to funding agreements secured by Mansfield District Council from partners and agencies, as well as the council putting in £5m to bring the project to fruition.
Other funding has come from Sport England, the Government’s Towns Fund, and £103,967 from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to create a dedicated changing place in the building.
Coun Andy Burgin, portfolio holder for Environment and Leisure at the council, said: “To see the facilities we had envisaged is a dream come true. I can not wait to see the public’s reaction when we open those doors.”
More Leisure Community Trust and Serco Leisure will operate the hub, which is situated off Carr Lane.
There will also be an official opening on 14th June.
