Students at Samworth Church Academy, Mansfield, have raised £400 for Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough, which specialises in the care of young people with a shortened life expectancy and their families.
Five students from the academy delivered the cheque and were given a tour of the facilities.
Students were prompted to raise money for the hospice at the suggestion of Emily Czubkowski.
She said: “We had to choose a charity and thought it would make sense to make it personal to one of us.
“Before I was born my brother used Rainbows and my parents have told me about their experiences, that’s why I suggested it. They just do so much to help people.”

Money was raised through raffles, cake sales and a Christmas Fair.
