Famous actor and singer Jason Donovan is the special guest at Our Dementia Choir’s annual fundraising concert at the John Fretwell Complex, Sookholme, on Sunday.

The sold-out night will include entertainment from the choir, Jason and the Blue John Soul Band.

Our Dementia Choir was formed in 2018 by BBC1, who aired a two-part documentary where award-winning actress Vicky McClure embarked on a personal quest to explore the therapeutic potential of music in fighting dementia.

As part of the documentary, the Dementia Choir was formed. The choir had such a profound impact that it continued to meet even after the show’s conclusion.

Eventually, it became a registered charity under the leadership of Karen Bonser – wife of choir member Mick Bonser – and continues to go from strength to strength.
