Egg-citing times at bus station

A drawing competition for children using Mansfield bus station was a success.

In total there were 37 entries received, with nine winners chosen from four age groups – each of them receiving a chocolate Easter egg and certificate recognising their achievement.

As a special surprise, however, the winning designs were turned into 40cm tall, three-dimensional eggs by the bus station’s in-house artist Shoun Gilder.

The eggs are now displayed on top of each information totem at the bus station, complete with the certificate recognising the winner. They will remain in place until the end of the month when the winners will be able to take them home.

“Special thanks should go to Shoun who, once again, volunteered his spare time to make the fantastic eggs, using materials he apparently just had lying about!” said Elliott Mizen, transport facilities manager.

“I can promise you there have been plenty of excited children who hadn’t expected to see their egg on display for all to see.

“It’s been great fun for all concerned and we’ve had lots of positive comments from people passing through the bus station.”
