In January the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland will mark 100 years since the foundation of the first club.

As part of the celebrations, the Inner Wheel Club of Mansfield is already tackling activities on a 100 for 100 theme. At a Summer Lunch members began a challenge of completing 100 skips for 100 days.

The club’s charity work is also adopting a 100 target.

Many years ago Inner Wheel International introduced a project to create baby bundles Joy Bags, Toy Bags, and Roy Bags. These are filled with ‘goodies for mothers, children, and fathers when a new baby is born.

A baby bundle is presented to encourage new mothers to attend antenatal classes and get her baby immunised.

Mansfield Inner Wheel works with the Mansfield-based National Police Aid Convoy, which takes its goods to wherever they are needed in times of war and natural disasters.

One of the newest members, Marie Hollingworth, has donated 100 items to be used in Joy Bags.

The club has already made more than 50 and hopes to complete 100 Joy Bags by the end of the year.
