The immediate past president of Sutton Rotary, Danny Thompson, presented four cheques to community-based charities at the culmination of his year in office.

Donations were made to Sutton Town Centre Group, which is installing Tommy silhouettes near Sutton Cemetery; Let’s All Eat, to help its provision of food for social-disadvantaged people; Sutton Centre Under 5s (top), to replace worn out play equipment and decorate its premises; and Sutton Youth Radio, which will use the money to buy equipment and continue its project to help young people with mental health issues.

The donations came from the Rotary club’s Community Action Fund.
