Busy time for thriving Kirkby u3a

Posted onPosted on 26th Jul

Members of Kirkby u3a, a thriving organisation with 63 different interest groups, have had a busy few months.

One of the walking groups went from Cromford to Matlock on a very hot day, while the Strollers Group (below) had a more leisurely walk at Burntstump Hill, Nottingham.

A coachload of members enjoyed a visit to Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, South Yorkshire, and the Family Social History Group (top) visited the Great British Car Journey, Ambergate.

The National Trust Group visited Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, and Snowshill Manor, Gloucestershire, with an overnight hotel stay before exploring the village of Broadway in the Cotswolds.

Kirkby u3a, for people no longer in full-time employment, has regular members’ meetings on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Ashwood Centre, Kirkby. Activities are enjoyed weekly or monthly. For more information go to www.ashfieldu3a.org.uk
