A new service has been launched in Ashfield to help people discover, create, and share resources.
The HealthwaveHub aims to promote exercise as well as give residents access to community services they might need.
One of the first people to benefit from the new resource was Abolade Akanji, community engagement co-ordinator at Age UK, Nottingham.
He was trying to empower older residents and get them moving, but it wasn’t easy. Abolade spent countless hours searching for resources, relying on outdated directories, and contacting colleagues for information.
But together with HealthwaveHub, he created the solution with a collection of resources to help more people get active all in one place.
Now, thanks to Abolade’s efforts and the convenience of HealthwaveHub, more people are exploring walking groups and enjoying green spaces in Ashfield.
People are urged to create and share their own collection at healthwavehub.com/ashfield or explore the resources already posted there. For more information on Healthwave, contact community engagement lead Dan Cocker at [email protected]
