Lighting up 75th birthday of NHS at King’s Mill Hospital

Dedicated charity fundraisers Cory Marsh and his fiancee, Deborah James, who always mark the birthday of the NHS, have come up with a special way to celebrate its 75th milestone this year.

They have arranged for two light-up numbers to be at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton, for a week so that NHS staff and visitors (in the main entrance area) can have their photos taken alongside the large 75.

Cory, of Mansfield, said: “The NHS birthday means a lot to me and Debs after the NHS saved my life in 2013. So I wanted to go big this year for its 75th birthday.”

He thanked Joanne Rimmer, of Ace Party, South Yorkshire, for providing the numbers free; Mansfield Balloon Company, Nottingham Road, for donating two large number balloons (75); and Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust chief executive Paul Robinson for allowing the celebration.

Cory added: “Debs and I hope the light-up numbers will get noticed and that lots of people enjoy having their photos taken with them.”

Cory and Deborah are regular charity fundraisers, and over Christmas helped the Emily Harris Foundation by decorating their garden with festive lights.
