Ashfield District Council’s annual Plant & Garden Fair is back for a 29th year this weekend.

Visitors will be able to shop for a wide variety of plants, flowers, garden ornaments and accessories on Sunday, 21st May, on Portland Square, Sutton, from 9am- 1pm.

The town centre will be bustling with a colourful array of indoor and outdoor plants, annuals, hanging baskets, window boxes, perennials, cacti, succulents, ferns, grasses, bedding plants, vegetable plants, planters, and garden decorations.

Coun Samantha Deakin, executive lead member for Parks, Town Centres Town Centres and Environmental Services, said “The annual Plant and Garden Fair is always a popular market event. That’s why we are so pleased to be bringing it back to Sutton again for its 29th year. It looks like the weather is going to be on our side so make sure you head down to Portland Square for all your gardening needs!

“This market event marks the start of our fantastic summer of events. We will be releasing details for our upcoming events shortly; keep an eye on our social media and website. The Council is committed to providing high quality free events for the community and this summer is going to be our best events programme yet”.

The fair marks the start of Ashfield’s Summer of Fun events line up, which include the Ashfield Food and Drinks Festival in Hucknall, and Ashfield Day, which is hosted on the Lawn Pleasure Grounds (Sutton Lawn) in Sutton.
