Volunteers have a fundraising home for their Mansfield group supporting veterans of the Armed Forces.
Veterans Unite is led by Eileen Massey, who said the temporary use of the shop on Bridge Street meant they could sell a variety of items to boost funds.
It was opened by Eileen with former Army major Jay Rowlinson, chief executive of Mansfield BID.
Eileen said many former Servicemen and women find it difficult to make the transition back to civilian life and she hopes to eventually set up a drop-in centre and cafe.
Veterans Unite, a community interest company, has been given use of the fireworks shop, owned by Dave Butler, for a small rent until October. Eileen will also be fundraising at Mansfield Market on 8th March, 26th April, and 17th May, and at Mansfield Town FC’s match against Orient at One Call Stadium on 11th March.
