Swim school’s pyjamas gift to charity

Posted onPosted on 4th Jan

Baby and child swim school, Puddle Ducks Nottinghamshire and North Leicestershire hand-delivered pyjamas for children at the Nottingham City Hospital and Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, after its annual Charity Pyjama Week in collaboration with Children’s Hospital Pyjamas.

The UK-based charity collects donations of new pyjamas for children aged from newborn to 18. Over the week, the little swimmers took to the water in their Puddle Ducks swimming lessons wearing pyjamas to experience what it feels like to swim when clothed, helping them to learn vital techniques should they accidentally fall into water.

Liz Gabriel, owner of Puddle Ducks Nottinghamshire and North Leicestershire said: “We were thrilled to be able to work with such a fabulous charity. We have been blown away by the generosity of our little swimmers, their family, and friends for providing donations and we want to say a big thank you.”

Almost 800 swimmers took part, also raising money for new pyjamas for Leicester Royal Infirmary, and the Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, Loughborough.

Children’s Hospital Pyjamas recognises that children don’t want to be wearing a gown when having to stay in hospital.
