Leisure centres in Ashfield are acting as warm spaces this winter to support those struggling with the expense of heating their homes.

Kirkby Leisure Centre and Lammas Leisure Centre, Sutton, run by award-winning operator Everyone Active in partnership with Ashfield District Council, are offering a safe place for the local community in their health hubs.

Kirkby Leisure Centre will be available on Mondays, from 10.30am to 12noon, and Lammas on Wednesdays, from 1.30pm to 3pm. People are welcome to turn up and speak to reception teams, without the need to pre-book.

The centres will be open to everyone, including non-Everyone Active members, free of charge.

Lorenzo Clark, Everyone Active’contract manager, said: “We know this winter could be difficult for many people. We invite people to come down and make the most of the space, not only to stay warm, but to socialise with friends or use as a co-working area.”
