Councillors answer questions at u3a meeting

Posted onPosted on 15th Nov

A Mansfield and District u3a members’ meeting was visited by two Nottinghamshire county councillors, who answered questions.

Andre Camilleri said he enjoyed the event and was impressed with the turnout. He added that he supported organisations that encourage education and social interaction, particularly for senior citizens like himself.

Steve Garner has previously supported the group financially and joined many of its events.

At the meeting speaker Martyn Lloyd gave a presentation on Passports, Assassins, Traitors and Spies.

The speaker at the Gardening Group was Dr Andrew Ward, who gave a talk on the Late Show and also provided a detailed list of the plants he discussed.

Mansfield and District u3a is a volunteer-led organisation for people no longer in full-time employment.

There are more than 30 interest groups, including beadwork, bowling, bridge, calligraphy, creative card making, family history, indoor curling, Scrabble, soft tennis, Tai Chi, and wine tasting.

Monthly members’ meetings are held at One Call Stadium, Quarry Lane, Mansfield, on the third Tuesday of the month at 10am. Call the membership secretary on 07935 707582 or go to https://u3asites.org.uk/mansfield/home for more information.
