Pioneering Mansfield web design agency Dijitul is expanding again — and is leading the way in training the digital workforce of the future.
Dijitul was founded by Dave Hartshorne and Olly in Mansfield in 2006 and has a worldwide reputation for providing E-commerce and website designs.
Now it has added two new arms to the company — Dijitul Enterprise, a digital skills training programme, and Dijitul Media, an agency specialising in professional photography for the web.
Dave, business development manager, said: “Both additions to the Dijitul brand are a natural progression for us. They will improve the services being offered to the digital sector, while continuing to expand our brand within the digital agency market.”
Dijitul Enterprise will focus on giving young people the digital and practical skills that companies need to be successful in the 21st Century.
It wants to coach and mentor young people, giving them the chance to develop in real life business situations, learn skills and then create and further their own ideas.
This will be done partly through the company’s Webmaster Program, which will be run from both its offices in Mansfield and a new area within the Creative Quarter in Nottingham, the city’s flagship project for entrepreneurial spirit, enterprise and economic growth.
The Webmaster Program also aims to match young people with digital job vacancies as they progress.
Dave said: “Once trained, and delivering real business benefits for the digital world, our webmasters will need to expand their horizons.
“Dijitul Recruit is open to both learners and business alike. We can match a learner with a business and provide the connection that so often is missing from standard recruitment practices.”
As part of its commitment to train a workforce and successful business people for the future, Dijitul is also involved with iDEA, an initiative backed by the Duke of York and Nominet Trust.
iDEA supports 14-25 year-olds to develop their ideas into a successful digital business venture and Dijitul is working to deliver the project in the East Midlands for the next five years.
The company will be running an event in March/April for students at schools, colleges and universities to find out more about the project.
Youngsters on the programme are given the chance to earn skills badges and to win financial support and access to expert help from top businesses.
Dijitul’s second new venture, Dijitul Media, was set up because the team identified a need for better photographs on the web and in social media.
“Photography for the web is a specialist skill and requires a particular approach. At Dijitul Media, we focus solely on images for the web that work on the web.”
Dijitul was originally based at the North Nottinghamshire Business Centre and moved to the Brunts Business Centre in 2013.
It has been particularly successful in the automotive sector, but has worked with many companies across a range of industries.
