Posted onPosted on 9th Sep

The chairman of Ashfield District Council, Coun David Walters, and chief executive Theresa Hodgkinson said they were extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen and have offered sincerest condolences to the royal family on behalf of the council.

A book of condolence is now available for residents to leave their own personal messages at the council’s Urban Road reception.

An online book of condolence is also available on the Royal Family’s website.

Council leaders and dignitaries took part in a short wreath-laying ceremony this morning and people can take floral tributes to mark their respects throughout the day.
