Charity shop to continue Evie Wilson’s legacy

Posted onPosted on 2nd Sep

A foundation set up to remember the caring work of a Clipstone teenager has expanded its presence in the community.

The Lashes Foundation opened its first fundraising shop — called the Lashes HQ — at 115b Clipstone Road West, Forest Town.

The foundation was set up in January in memory of Evie Wilson, of Clipstone, who died aged 13 laat year. It aims to continue her kindness and caring help for people in the community.

The shop will sell high-quality pre-loved items.

All proceeds will go towards helping the foundation make grants to people in need in the local community. It also wants to support local people with affordable items “in what are unprecedented hard times for many people.”

Parking for the shop is available at St Patrick’s Church or Kingsway Hall. It is open from 9am to 12noon on Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays. Donations are welcome and can be left at the shop during opening hours.

The foundation, named Charity Of The Year at the Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 Business Awards this year, was called Lashes because Evie loved fake eyelashes.

Her father, Lee Wilson, a former Mansfield Town FC player, said: “It will help people of whatever age, whatever their problems.”
