Staff and children at Little Millers Day Nursery are celebrating after their nursery was rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted.

Little Millers Day Nursery, based on the King’s Mill Hospital site in Sutton, received the news after an unannounced visit from Ofsted inspectors.

The report concluded that children enjoy their time, develop good relationships with their friends, and all children are making good progress from their starting points. The report noted that parents were positive about the care their children receive, feeling their children are developing their communication skills, making good progress, and are ready for school.

The inspector also found that staff understand how to implement the nursery curriculum to help children continually learn and gain further knowledge. The latest report confirmed that arrangements for safeguarding are effective and that staff have a robust understanding of the possible signs that may indicate a child is at risk of harm.

The ‘Good’ rating represents a quick turnaround for the nursery after a previous report rated the nursery as inadequate.

Ofsted specifically praised the positive approach the team took to the last inspection after a robust action plan was designed between the trust and nursery staff to address the points raised ahead of the reinspection.
