Thanking National Lottery funding

Posted onPosted on 21st Jul

National Lottery players have raised £863,643 for Mansfield area charities and community-support groups in the past three months.

Mansfield MP Ben Bradley welcomed the grants that were awarded and wants more local good causes to apply for National Lottery funding, saying it could be a lifeline as local people and communities rebuild and recover from the pandemic.

Groups to have benefitted so far include Empowering Families’ Futures, which was awarded £358,213. This funding will support Nottinghamshire Independent Domestic Abuse Service (NIDAS) to continue to deliver and develop its family support project, reducing harm and trauma caused by domestic abuse to families in Mansfield and Ashfield.

Long-term support will be provided to help women and their children rebuild their lives, providing intervention and prevention services outside the scope of commissioned services.

The funding is being distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Ben said: “I’m delighted that Mansfield has been awarded £863,643 since March.

“The funding goes a long way and makes a real difference to the community. These groups are inspirational in the great work and support they provide to local people and their community, helping to bring people together once again and build community spirit.”
