Thousand thanks from Amazons

Posted onPosted on 30th Jun

Skegby’s Triple S Snooker and Social Club held an open-air event to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and raise money for the Amazon Breast Cancer Support Group, which works for the benefit of breast cancer patients at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton.

There were various stalls, ice-creams, cakes, hot food, a bouncy castle, raffle and DJ.

The event made £847, which the club rounded-up to £1,000.

The Amazon charity held its own Surprise Tombola stall at the event and raised £299 themselves — their first own fundraising since the lifting of covid restrictions.

Pictured, top, at the presentation of the £1,000 donation are members of the charity with two of the Triple S event organisers, Helen Underwood and Mandy Robinson.

Amazon chairperson Beryl Perrin thanked everyone at Triple S and those involved in supporting the event for their time and generosity in helping the local charity.

The Amazons Surprise Tombola Stall (above) had pink balloons in the shape of 25 because the charity, in its 25th year, has so far raised £239,606 to support King’s Mill patients.
