Children at The Flying High Academy, Mansfield, celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by holding a whole school picnic lunch, followed by an open-air concert on the school field.

The Proms In The Playground concert started with the National Anthem before year groups performed music hits from the last seven decades.

Vicky Sudnik, year 3 teacher, said: “Children were dressed up as royals, or in fashion from the last 70 years or in the Union Flag colours.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to come together to celebrate such an important event in our history — something they will remember for many years to come.”
