Peafield Lane Academy has revamped its Early Years and Foundation Unit, with new décor and additional resources for children.

Laura Childs, deputy head and Foundation teacher at the Mansfield Woodhouse academy, said children were thriving in their new surroundings.

“Our newly-furnished and decorated environment has improved our continuous provision in a way that allows our children to immerse themselves in the learning that is on offer.

“It allows children to take further pride in, and responsibility for, our new provision, which is demonstrating our core values.”

The unit, which has been redecorated and carpeted, has a wealth of updated resources for children to use. Staff report that pupils are enjoying their new rooms.

Fox (5) said: “I love our new drawing and writing area.” Clara, who is also five, added: “I like doing phonics the best.”

Darcie (5) said: “I love the new reading area. It has pretty lights and animals to read to.” Sydney (also 5) added: “I love to make things for my mummy in the workshop.”

Laura added: “We can’t wait to welcome people in to see the area and are taking bookings for tours for new families at the moment.

“It is rich in resources and a happy and stimulating place for children to learn and flourish. I feel so proud showing new families around.”
