Memory fund legacy tribute to Margaret

Posted onPosted on 31st Mar

A Loving Memory Fund has been set up to commemorate the life of grandmother and great grandmother Margaret Howell, who would have been 100 today.

The Nottinghamshire Community Foundation (NCF) has been working with her family to set up the fund to celebrate her life and a legacy fund will be invested with NCF to provide small grants to Women’s Institutes across Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire.

NCF chief executive Nina Dauban said, “We are thrilled to work with the family on this wonderful legacy and appropriate tribute to Margaret Howell. Margaret dedicated her life to the education of women and girls and passionately believed in the skills, confidence and community leadership opportunities offered to all women through Women’s Institutes.

“She was an active and energetic member, both in Worcestershire, where her mother organised local WI members to engage in fruit and vegetable processing for the war effort, and later in life in Nottinghamshire.”

The Margaret Howell fund will continue to support groups in perpetuity and if you would like to pay tribute to Margaret and support her charitable fund, you can donate at www.nottscf.org.uk/giving/donate-to-a-local-fund-or-campaign/margaret-howell-fund/

If you want to leave a local legacy or loving memory fund, you don’t need to set up your own trust or charity. Just go to www.nottscf.org.uk or email for free advice at [email protected].
