The Old Meeting House in Mansfield is continuing its work to help Ukrainian refugees fleeing the Russian invasion of their homeland.
The Rev Maria Pap said they would continue to receive donations until at least Friday, 18th March. They can be left on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 10am-12noon, and on Fridays, from 3pm-5pm.

The church can be reached on foot from Stockwell Gate, by B&M, or by car – the entrance is next to Walkden Street Car Park.
Items needed include:
Medical – Paracetamol, Ibuprofen cold/flu treatment, antiseptic cream, bandages, sterile dressings, surgical tape, , wound closure strips, multi vitamins, first aid kits, lozenges, Vicks vapor rub, barrier cream, cough syrup.
Food/drink – Protein bars, 3 in 1 coffee sachets, small packets of nuts/raisins, crunchy peanut butter in plastic containers, not glass, and instant soups and canned goods.
Personal hygiene – Toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, wet wipes, shower gel, shampoo, sanitary towels and pads.
Clothing – Thermals, socks, hats, gloves, fingerless mittens, snoods, warm shoe liners, heavy denier tights – large size.
Children: Nappies, baby food, formula milk, baby toiletries, feeding bottles, blankets, sleeping bags, crayons, crayolas, colouring books,
Additionally, bedding sets, towels, sleeping bags, blankets, batteries and flashlights are also wanted.
Organisers have asked that people do not donate clothes.
Donations will go to Romanian and Hungarian villages and towns close to their borders with Ukraine and will be distributed through the local councils and parishes.
Maria said the Old Meeting House would continue to collect donations for long as they were is needed, providing transport is in place.
“We wish to thank everyone for donations received so far, not just to the OMH Appeal but to all the appeals of institutions, charities, schools or individual initiatives in and around Mansfield,” she added.
“With your donations – going to Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Romania – goes an invisible thread of compassion, love and kindness that does not know barriers and customs and divisiveness.
“I am so touched by what we achieved together and I hope will be able to support all the innocents bearing the brunt of this war as long as it will be needed.”
