New chief executive for health trust

Posted onPosted on 9th Mar

Paul Robinson has been appointed chief executive of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation, which operates King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton; Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust chair Claire Ward said: “I am delighted Paul has been successful and he will be continuing to lead our hospitals as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic and focus on the challenges ahead as a leading member within Nottinghamshire’s new Integrated Care System.

“As finance director and deputy chief executive he has played a key role in #TeamSFH’s ongoing quality improvement journey over the past six years, making a real difference to the care and services we deliver for our patients.

“During this time, we have achieved our Care Quality Commission rating of good for the trust as a whole and our King’s Mill site is now rated outstanding. We were the Health Service Journal’s 2020 Acute Trust of the Year.

“I look forward to working with him as we work ever more closely with our local health and social care partners in the new landscape for health and social care in Nottinghamshire.”

Paul joined the trust in May 2015 and has worked in the NHS for more than 30 years. Having held two previous director-level roles, he was appointed deputy chief executive in October 2019 and has been interim chief executive since last September.

“I am delighted and extremely privileged to have been chosen to lead Sherwood Forest,” said Paul.

“I am proud of the quality of care we provide to patients and their families and I am now looking forward to continuing to support everyone in #TeamSFH as they continue their excellent work.

“My role now is to help all colleagues maintain their focus on even better outcomes for patients and improving the health and wellbeing of our local communities in an open and transparent culture where everyone has a voice.”
