The swimming pool at the new Kirkby Leisure Centre has been filled with water for the first time.
Ashfield District Council leader Coun Jason Zadrozny said: “It is fantastic to see the swimming pool full of water. We have promised the residents of Kirkby a pool and we are now just months away from delivering that.
“As well as the swimming pool there will also be a children’s splash pad. Along with a state-of-the-art climbing wall, gym, soft play, sports hall and café there will be something for everyone.”
The £15.5m build is on track to be completed this summer.
Coun Rachel Madden, cabinet member for leisure, health and wellbeing, added: “The council is committed to providing high-quality leisure facilities to residents. Our leisure transformation has provided Ashfield with some of best leisure facilities in Nottinghamshire and beyond.”
